Relax & Reset
What actually happens in a Relax & Reset session? You lie down, tell me if there's anywhere that's feeling tight or stressed, and I get straight into it. It blends sports and deep tissue techniques but without the usual postural assessment at the start, so there's no sitting around answering questions — you're getting worked on within a couple of minutes of walking through the door.
Is the pressure really deep tissue, or is it more of a gentle massage? Whatever you want it to be. The workflow is built on sports and deep tissue methods, but the pressure is fully adjustable. Some people want firm work on tired muscles, others just want to switch off — tell me at any point during the session and I'll adjust.
Will this help with general aches from sitting at a desk all day, or is it more for athletes? Both. It's designed as a full-body, overall muscle treatment, so it works just as well for desk-related tension as it does for general tightness from training or day-to-day life.
Do I need to prepare anything beforehand? Not really — that's the point of this treatment. There's no clinical assessment or lengthy intake process, so you can come in, get changed, and get straight onto the table.
What session lengths do you offer, and which one should I pick? There are three options, depending on how much time you've got and what you need:
30 minutes — upper back only. Ideal if you're short on time or just want that one stubborn area (neck, shoulders, upper back) worked on.
1 hour — full body. The standard option if you want everything covered, not just one area.
1.5 hours — full body plus head massage. The most complete version, adding scalp and head work on top of the full body treatment for a proper switch-off.
If you're not sure, the 1 hour full body is the one most people go for as a starting point.
How much does each option cost?
30 min (upper back): £30
1 hour (full body): £60
1.5 hours (full body + head massage): £80
Advanced Recovery
How is Advanced Recovery different from Relax & Reset? Relax & Reset works the whole body for general tension and stress relief. Advanced Recovery is more targeted — we focus on either your upper or lower limb rather than covering everything, which means more time spent on the area that actually needs it.
Why only upper or lower limb, rather than the whole body? Because it's a more focused, sports-and-holistic-style treatment. Splitting the session by limb means the time goes into proper, thorough work on one area instead of being spread thinly across the whole body.
What's the difference between dry cupping and shockwave, and how do I choose? Both are optional add-ons and it depends on what you're dealing with. Dry cupping is great for releasing tight, restricted muscle and improving blood flow to an area. Shockwave works a bit like dry needling in terms of getting into a stubborn knot, but without any needles — it's completely non-invasive. It's very quick at breaking down deep, stubborn knots, and the pain relief tends to last a lot longer than with manual work alone. If you're not sure which is right for you, let me know what you're struggling with and I'll recommend one.
Is shockwave the same as dry needling? Not quite — it achieves a similar result on stubborn knots, but there's no needle involved at all, so it's fully non-invasive. It's also much faster to get into the problem area, and the relief it gives tends to last considerably longer than other methods.
Do I have to choose one of the add-ons, or can I have the massage on its own? Totally up to you — both dry cupping and shockwave are optional. Plenty of people just have the targeted massage work on its own.
Is this suitable if I'm not an athlete? Yes. It's aimed more at holistic recovery than pure sports performance, so it works well whether you're training regularly or just dealing with a specific niggle, old injury, or area of ongoing tightness.

I don't treat recent or acute injuries — for those, it's best to see a doctor or physio first. What I do work with is things like lower or upper back pain and chronic pain. What sets me apart is that I don't use dry needling — instead, I use a shockwave machine, the same high-end equipment used in private clinics and by the NHS. It's particularly effective for tendon issues and for breaking down stubborn knots quickly.

what should I expect? Don't worry at all. Ask me anything you like, and I'll guide you through how to prepare so you feel completely at ease. You're in safe hands — I'm a fully insured, registered sports massage therapist, and the only male massage therapist in the building.

As I work solo, there's no need to request a therapist — every session is with me.

Yes — a short form as part of the booking process, so I know a bit about you and anything I should be aware of before your session.

It really depends on you and how quickly you want to recover. If you're very active and need faster recovery, coming more often helps — try around three times a month to start, then gradually work your way down to once a month as things improve. Just bear in mind that the more active you are, the more recovery your body needs, so it's worth listening to how your body feels rather than sticking to a fixed schedule.
